Coronavirus COVID-19 Information
The health and wellbeing of our employees, artists, volunteers, audience members and supporters is our highest priority. We are continuously monitoring the COVID-19 situation and advice from the Government of Western Australian Department of Health regarding the Coronavirus. With the recent announcement that all non-essential, organised gatherings of 500 people or more are to be cancelled, we acknowledge that we have a greater responsibility to the wider community to ensure that all our stakeholders remain safe. It is our view that to support the governments distancing strategy, we will be cancelling our April season of Miss Lily’s Fabulous Feather Boa which was scheduled to run from April 11 to 25, 2020 at our home theatre in Fremantle.
All ticket holders for Miss Lily’s Fabulous Feather Boa will be entitled to a full refund. However ticket holders may consider transferring the value of booked tickets to a gift certificate valid for three years or convert to a tax deductible donation which will go towards supporting the employment of our artist. Can I eat or drink in the theatre?
We kindly ask that no food or drink (other than bottled water) is consumed in the theatre. We have an abundance of cafes and restaurants conveniently located in close proximity to the theatre to enjoy before or after your visit. Plus, during the warmer months, Pioneer Park, where the theatre is located, is ideal for a picnic.
What time can I arrive?
Box office opens one hour prior to the performance time. We encourage all guests to arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the start of the performance, to allow time to use the bathroom facilities and find a seat in the theatre without feeling rushed. Arriving early will allow you and your family to enjoy time exploring the puppets in our foyer.
Can I leave in the middle of a performance?
Being a family friendly theatre, we understand that guests may need to leave the performance temporarily from time to time. If you do need to leave during a performance, one of our friendly ushers will assist you with re-entering the performance at an appropriate time.
What if I arrive late?
Latecomers may be admitted at an appropriate time during the performance. Groups of 5 or more people may find they are unable to be seated together if arriving late.
Can I use my phone during a performance?
You may like to select flight-mode prior to the performance starting to avoid being surprised by a buzzing phone during the show. Please remember a glowing screen in a dark theatre is distracting to the performers and the guests seated near you.
Is there parking at the theatre?
There is limited street parking located next to the theatre, but plenty of parking lots within walking distance. Click here to find out more about parking fees and restrictions. We are also conveniently located directly across from Fremantle Train Station.
Where are my tickets?
There are no printed tickets issued for our productions. If you provide an email address at the time of booking you will receive a booking confirmation email, including a confirmation number. Use your confirmation number or name and booking details to check in at box office up to one hour before the performance time. You will be issued a slap band at the box office and this will be collected by the usher before entering the theatre.
Where are the puppets?
Spare Parts Puppet Theatre prides itself on nurturing the art form of puppetry in the broadest sense. Our shows may incorporate a variety of puppetry techniques ranging from Hand Puppets, Costume Puppets, Shadow Puppets, Rod Puppets, Mask Puppets, Marionettes to Object Theatre, which is the manipulation of objects for the purpose of telling a story. Some of our shows also combine puppetry with Digital Projection, Animation, Dance and Physical Theatre to bring a story life.
What does the booking fee include?
All bookings incur a $3.95 booking fee. This booking fee covers our e-ticketing services including secure booking charges and associated credit card and bank fees.
Can I get a refund?
Unless a show or performance is cancelled we are unable to provide a refund. We follow the Live Performance Australia Ticketing Code of Practice. Please refer to COVID-19 Patron Information at top of this page for current refund and exchange policy.
Is there wheelchair access?
The theatre has space allocated to wheelchair users and there is a universal access bathroom facility at the theatre. For all wheelchair or special access requirements, please book directly with our box office on 08 9335 5044. To find out more about accessibility please head HERE.
Can I take my pram into the theatre?
Prams can be left with box office staff in the foyer. We also have a baby changing station available in the universal access toilet, which is located near the doors to the auditorium.
What is a relaxed performance?
Our special sensory-friendly relaxed performances are perfect for people who may find a traditional theatre experience a little overwhelming. Our main doors open at 9am, so families can spend time together exploring our foyer, puppet display, and sensory activities. There are also opportunities to meet the performers and a puppet or two prior to the performance. Our reduced booking capacity for the ‘relaxed show’ ensures lots of room to get comfy and relaxed for the show. Soft house lights remain on throughout the performance. Our friendly team are on hand to welcome you and help make the visit a truly special day out for your family.
